For the financial year 2012-13, the Heritage Lottery Fund has announced that it will have £26million allocated to its' small grants programme (Your Heritage) and from April it will be accepting bids up to £100,000 within this programme (previously the maximum was £50K).
If you are working in archives and considering applying for the programme this year, then you may be interested in attending one of our training events focused on the 'Your Heritage' grants workshops. These will take place at:

· Hampshire Record Office on Thursday 9th February 2012

· Warwickshire Record Office on Thursday 8th March 2012
This one day workshop is designed for those aiming to apply to the Heritage Lottery Fund's 'Your Heritage' grant scheme (http://www.hlf.org.uk/HowToApply/programmes/Pages/yourheritage.aspx).

Course objectives are:

 * To give participants a background to the Heritage Lottery Fund and a detailed understanding of the assessment criteria for 'Your Heritage' grants
 * To provide participants with advice on developing fundable projects and completing the application form
 * To give participants confidence to complete the application form independently

Previous workshop attendees feedback on the event: 'very helpful, clear and well-tailored to the various needs and questions of the delegates', 'almost everything was new. I had come with vague ideas and left feeling much more grounded in the facts', 'Excellent day, which I would recommend to others' 'Giving confidence to apply which is very valuable'

These workshops are open to anyone working in archives or with archive materials in the UK, but to benefit from the workshop-style structure participants should have a specific project proposal in mind. Places on this events are FREE but limited and will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.

For more information, and for details about how to reserve a place please go to http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/information-management/our-services/your-heritage-grants-workshop.htm

Please note that HLF programmes are likely to change in 2013 with the commencement of their next strategic planning period. Therefore we are unlikely to be running any more workshops focused on small grants after these Spring events until information about new programmes is publicly available.

If you are unsure whether this is the appropriate workshop for you, or would like to discuss your funding needs more generally then please do feel free to contact me directly.
