Head of Heritage Services

We are looking for a forward thinking person with a passion for

archives and local studies to lead Hertfordshire’s Heritage Services.

You will have significant experience in the management, development

delivery and promotion of archives or library services, and the ability

to plan and direct services at a strategic level. This post has a wide

remit including responsibility for the County Record Office, County

Local Studies Library, Museums Development, and the delivery of

local and family history services across Hertfordshire libraries.

Libraries, Culture and Learning (LCL) is part of the Health and

Community Services Directorate, and an essential part of this

post will be to work with a wide range of internal and external

partners to ensure that Heritage Services contribute to the county

council’s key priorities and the localism agenda. As a member of

the LCL Management Board, you will share responsibility for the

general management of the service, and represent the Head of LCL

as required on appropriate local, regional and national bodies.
