Oh dear, that’s an acronym fail on my part (I’m claiming acronym overload) – it’s STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art & Mathematics).

 

Sorry Medicine! 

 

Great to see that this new acronym is tipping people over their boiling point. #STEAMpowered </H2Ojoke> ;)

I believe 'STEAM' has been going around the US scicomms community for some time. I quite like it, albeit with the usual caveat that I don't think anyone outside the sector has the faintest idea what 'STEM' is in the first place.

All of these things are very audience and context-sensitive.
