Sharon,

this gets under my guard and makes me feel in the presence of a sort of classic
poem of grief.
(I hesitated at the second 'somewhere' and began to try some slight change, eg
using the word 'elsewhere'.)

best from Max

Quoting sharon brogan <[log in to unmask]>:

> grief, my old friend
>
> we walk this familiar path
> snow creaks under our boots
> the river is low
> iced over
>
> this thickening sky
> falls into fog
> our way is hidden now
> we breathe in stars
>
> somewhere the moon
> diminishes somewhere
> the sun spits out
> its brilliant storms
>
> blind here again
> carefully we step together
> this frozen ground sighs
> opens beneath us
