Thanks all

Good to know I am not alone in this..... my head is feeling very close to the brick wall of my office at this time.

Just had a very sad but challenging case of a man widowed suddenly Nov 2010 and now single parent to a 7 year old but has failed to RTW. Employer has supported 2 courses of counselling, have bent over backwards to facilitate term time working etc but he keeps coming up with reasons why he cannot RTW .. anniversary, daughters birthday, now xmas and also his employers who he sees as unsupportive despite all the efforts they have made to date. Interestingly his GP just keeps signing 6 weeks fit notes and there is no medical treatment in place although he keeps talking of being depressed. He maintains there has been no discussion about medical treatment for at least 9 months! Makes me wonder about the conversations between him and his GP.

Needless to say, with my caring sharing personality, I challenged him about his return to work and have referred him upwards as I cannot foresee a return to work irrespective of what plans are attempted. .... i see a complaint on my radar :)

I did research on this and the conclusion was that those people who have the worst exacerbations are those with a predisposition to having no annual leave left and a family history of lazitis beditis horrendious ! Poor poppetts....

[OCC-HEALTH] Xmas illness ['Watchdog': checked]

Has anyone else noticed an increase of number of people who are very ill now.... far to ill to do any work at all.. but anticipate a miraculous recovery on/around 3 January?

I know it's human nature but it's certainly making work more challenging at the moment ;-/
