medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Roughly (very roughly) Sarum in the south (and in Wales), York in the north.
It's based on the York use and on a big urban setting but you might find Barnwell, Cross and Rycroft, Mass & Parish in Late Medieval England: The Use of York useful. Detail on vestment

I suspect this is to help the parish realise that re-ordering a church is neither new nor dangerous.
I am reasonably acquainted with the history of the building and re-ordering of our church, but can anyone suggest any books/articles on the form of church services between 1100 and the Reformation? Would the Sarum rite have been used in a parish church of some importance?
Many thanks
