You comments about the morning service are not quite correct: The Morning
service would have been of Mattins, (often followed by the Litany as the
Prayer Book Rubrics demanded) then Ante-Communion (The Communion Service down
to the Prayer for the Church Militant) plus a sermon, This would have taken up
quite a chunk of the morning, especially since sermons then were not of the
length of today!
There would also have been an afternoon service, usually without
sermon.
