Hi, If there is a mission statement I think you could explain how your library services provides information and knowledge to empower users to achieve the mission of your parent organisation. Regards Ramya >>> Xu Guo <[log in to unmask]> 01/12/2011 12:10 >>> Dear All, I am experiencing similar confusion of providing the organizational aims and objectives. Our school aims and objectives is not included clearly in the document of school policy/guideline, it actually only described by departments' hand book together with their own subjects aims and objectives, which come up with such differences and complexions. I am wondering that if I could reorganize and summary these sorts of information together and this would according with what my library has been support for. Many thanks Xu Guo King Rochester ________________________________ From: list for CILIP members working towards MCLIP status [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Katrin Roberts Sent: 01 December 2011 10:20 To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: Organisational objectives I think it really depends on what your organisation is like. I included the university's strategic plan and briefly commented on it and how the library can support it and then focused on the library's strategic plan and highlighted and commented on the points I was particularly involved with and contributed to. As for mentor meetings: I wrote notes during the meetings which I then typed up to share with my mentor and include in the portfolio. I would have thought a bit of context was important, so the assessor knows what sort of business you work for, then focus on your post. Colleagues who've chartered in the past have put a copy of our job description in, things like that. Interested to see what other people think! I'm going to keep a diary of mentor meetings, and type it up for my portfolio. Do you weave it into the rest of the portfolio or give it it's own section? Is it just a case of going through them all individually or only the items that are relevant to your post? Or is this judgement supposed to be one of the things we are supposed to be displaying in our chartership application?! Help... Also, can I ask how people have been recording their meetings with their mentor? I'm fairly certain that there is a blank form from CILIP's site but if I wanted to record it in some detail? All advice and help gratefully received!
