This looks as though it is the same dataset as Liz's.

Helen

When I did HLC a few years ago I discovered a project via the Economic
and Social Data Service (http://www.data-archive.ac.uk
<http://www.data-archive.ac.u> ) that had digitised old parishes. It was
called Historic Parishes of England & Wales: An Electronic Map of
Boundaries before 1850 with a Gazetteer and Metadata by Roger J. P. Kain
and Richard R. Oliver (Colchester History Data Service 2001). I managed
to get a copy by getting an ATHENS registration and downloading it from
the. I've just checked and it's still listed there and available
(project SN 4828).

Best wishes

Liz

Subject: Old parish boundary records..?

Hello,

Don't know if we're talked about this before (probably!) but does anyone
know anywhere that has old parish boundary data, preferably in GIS form?

The beginning of this was, following the recent invention of new
parishes, discovering that the IT people only keep the most recent
boundaries (something to do with our agreement with the OS), but it
would actually be useful to know if you can get even older data...

Thanks,
