BRAND NEW vacancy - European GIS Tech Lead / Lead Analyst
This role requires a solid understanding of business processes and a broad technical background covering the delivery of GIS (ESRI) services, responding to the GIS needs of the business across European offices, and identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness for the Development, Exploration and Drilling & Completions groups in the UK / Europe businesses.
Location: London/ South
Salary: £55-60k basic plus ‘substantial allowances and benefits’

European GIS Tech Lead / Lead Analyst job brief:
- Provide technical leadership for, and support and mentor the GIS Services Team that delivers GIS service and program of improvements to the European offices.
- GIS Analysts/Specialist embedded within business units
- Cartography
- Spatial Data Management
- Geomatics
- GIS application development
- Substantial experience with ESRI GIS products is essential (ArcGIS, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server)
- Considerable related E&P GIS experience, preferably at the GIS Analyst level, and some Geoscience/Engineering Support experience required
- Strong working knowledge of map projections, datums, and transformations; must be able to verify data accuracy
- Training or experience with E&P industry data sources
- Knowledge of Exploration and Development processes and lifecycle
- Ability to clearly translate GIS technical discussions to business application
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Ability to mentor, advise and assist staff in the provision of services
- Highly flexible and adaptable
- Experience in supporting Petroview and Business Intelligence products in general
- Good understanding of satellite imagery products and solutions
- Experience in process mapping
- ITIL Service Delivery & Project Management practices is an advantage but not essential
