Hi folks - a reminder about up coming interpretive training. I have also attached information about this and my course on interpretive media (panels, exhibits, tech., etc.) in September.
The registration for the Interpretive Planning course is limited to 15 participants so I can provide more one-on-one consultation and coaching time. A copy of my text book on interpretive planning will be provided as part of the course registration.
Happy Holidays - John Veverka
Interpretive
Master Planning,
18-21 June 2012
The Interpretive Master Planning course will prepare and help participants develop interpretive master plans for their sites, facilities or agencies. This includes parks, historic sites, heritage destinations, zoos, gardens and related organizations. The course will be presented by John Veverka from the US. John is a Certified Interpretive Planner and Trainer with over 30 years of interpretive planning experience. Participants will work on their particular interpretive plans in the course and leave with a draft interpretive plan. If you don't have a planning project you can help others work on their projects.
Some of our new/innovative interpretive planning concepts will include:
- Outcome based planning - cost/contact and media cost effectiveness, markets of one, mass customization principles, and more. You will learn why for every pound you spend on interpretation you should receive 2 pounds in benefits. Evaluation (does the interpretive media deliver anything??) And more new stuff.
