You're welcome Elisabete,

I've found the actual paper from "Contemporary Sexuality" (attachment).

Cheers,

  Thank you very much, Baptiste.

I couldn’t get the PDF version of Todd Melby’s article published in Apositive, neither could I find out where it was published originally. His article is very interesting though.

Not sure if it is the same article I was looking for, this is the lead I get for the other one:

  http://connection.ebscohost.com/c/articles/19204840/asexuality-gets-more-attention-but-sexual-orientation

As for the other Cerankowski’s articles you mention, I knew about them, but I only have the “New Orientations: asexuality and its implications...” in full text. I don’t have the other one (Asexuality: Redefining sexual orientation). In the abstract it says that that’s just a clipping for a much larger piece, but I couldn’t find the complete article. I think that this might be very important. I’ll keep on looking.

Thank you very much, Baptiste. Very kind of you.

  Hello,

  I'm not fully sure, but I think it's :

Asexuality gets more attention, but is it a sexual orientation ? by Todd Melby (http://www.apositive.org/wordpress_backup/?page_id=222)

And two papers by Cerankowski :

Asexuality : redefining sexual orientation (http://astro.temple.edu/~jasak/Cerankowski_Roundtable_2009.pdf)
New Orientations: Asexuality and Its Implications for Theory and Practice.

  Good day,

    Hey all,

I came across this abstract and was wondering if some of you has the whole article:

Title: Asexuality gets more attention, but is it a sexual orientation?

Authors: Cerankowski, Karli June; Milks, Megan

Source: Contemporary Sexuality, Nov 2005, Vol. 39 issie 11, p1

    Abstract

The article discusses the issue of asexuality. Asexuality is the absence of a traditional sexual orientation, in which an individual would exhibit little or no sexual attraction to males or females. The author notes one authority as saying that If someone says that he is asexual, it does not mean that he does not have sex drive - it merely means that he has chosen not to use it. According to Marty Klein, a certified sex therapist, every clinician has seen people with no interest in sex, sometimes lifelong. He says that some have been exploited; some have personality disorders; some are terrified of their own sexuality. There are still some who simply want to avoid it. According to certified sex therapist Joy Davidson, asexuality can be explained or partly explained by one of several conditions including undiagnosed endocrine balance, an adaptation to unusual or distressing conditions such as pain or punishment for sexual feelings.

    Thanks
