We have had three career development sessions for BME staff, two in
October 2010 jointly with Newham PCT, we both paid for an external
consultancy to come in, this was a session targeting BME staff. One in
June 2011, which was funded by the Department for Communities and Local
Government, from their tackling race equality fund, this was a session
for BME staff only. Currently working on a leadership development
programme for all staff, targeting BME staff who are under represented
at the senior levels of the trust, due for Jan/Feb. 2012.

Subject: Examples of MEO/BME Interventions

Dear colleagues

We are currently working on a new MEO equality project, aimed at
identifying and addressing issues relating to the recruitment,
development and progression of MEO staff.

Does anyone have an examples of successful interventions/approaches
they've introduced in this area that they would be willing to share some
of the details of?

Many thanks

Keith
