Hello Omar, I haven't tried using SPM with my student edition yet, but I did ring up Mathworks' UK centre to ask about functionality before I bought it, and they confirmed that the student version has full functionality, it's only the price and licensing restrictions that are different. Therefore there should not be a problem. You can also install it on more than one computer for your personal use (such as your laptop and desktop), and download different versions under the one licence (e.g. for Linux, Windows &/or Mac), all on the student licence, so all in all a good buy, I've found. If you are concerned I'd recommend phoning them as their customer service is excellent - they answered several of my questions/problems both before and after purchase and were very patient. (Their technical support line is also good, although be aware that for the student version the ongoing technical support is more limited once you've got the thing up and running - but their message boards and documentation are also very good.)
