Dear L 'Courage and convictions' !!do you realise that I risk my life (and
perhaps my limited sanity!)commenting on your poems
I have the courage but not the conviction -am not convinced at all -but I do
tread so carefully not to hurt feeling-a failing I admit leaves me open to
ranting justification even nasty long words like -syntactically
smokescreenings
I humbly wish you well have and stew in your fought for 'continuity'

oh dear, have the courage of your conviction, man!

having said which I think the word is essential and that you are missing...

syntactically it leaves

cream and white and dangerous

unusefully ambiguous if you delete the word
