Research Day: ZooNation's Some Like It Hip Hop

Representations of gender & storytelling

Open to researchers, practitioners, artists, teachers and students

 

Price: Free for members of the Society for Dance Research 

£15 (Non-members)

Membership of the Society for Dance Research from January 2012 costs £40 / £27 (students). If you join the Society on the day, you can attend this event for free. Membership entitles you to free entry to the Choreographic Forum, which happens 4 times per year, as well as discounts for other events. You will also receive the Dance Research journal in the post twice per year.

After the successful run of Into the Hoods, Some Like It Hip Hop is ZooNation's second evening-length hip hop dance theatre production, choreographed and directed by Kate Prince. It runs until 19th November 2011 at the Peacock Theatre (Holborn, London). Tickets can be reserved via the Sadler's Wells website (http://www.sadlerswells.com <http://www.sadlerswells.com> ) or via the Ticket Office (Telephone +44 844 412 4322). This research day will include a talk by Kate Prince about the creation of the work, academic provocations, a roundtable discussion and choreographic workshop. 

 

Tea and coffee will be provided. There are places to purchase lunch nearby, or you may bring your own.

The research day will be followed by the Annual General meeting of the Society at 3 pm.
