A day before the fesitval starts we are Warming Up at the Institut Français – Maison Descartes in Amsterdam. Two distinguished artists and guests of the festival, Dominique Palombo (fashion fotographer/filmmaker) and Manon Le Roy (visual artist/filmmaker), present exclusively at Maison Descartes their work. They will do a Q&A afterwards.

Cinedans is full of interesting programmes, but we notice already now that some programmes are very popular. This means, don't wait too long with buying your tickets for the following programmes:

What you definately shouldn't miss, are our installation programmes at De Balie and Melkweg.
During the festival we have a continuous programme at De Balie with a.o two interactive installations: the 'Dance Engine' and 'When we Meet Again' by artist duo Clara & Sam.
On Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 December you can attend Digital Dance at the Melkweg. Digital Dance is an installation programme with moving, powerful and extraordinary art installations by Frieder Weiss, Antonia Baehr, Manon Le Roy, Nic Sandiland, Arent Wevers and Chaja Hertog & Nir Nadler.

Special guests at cinedans

We are greatful to announce that most film makers from the Netherlands and abroad are joining Cinedans in Amsterdam. But next to that we welcome a few special guests:

Former Étoile of the Paris Opera Ballet, Claude Bessy is present at the documentary about her dance career: 'Claude Bessy, Lignes d'une Vie' on Saturday 3 December, 15h00 at De Balie.
Dutch master choreographer Hans van Manen joins the premiere 'Hans van Manen Creating without Words', on Saturday 3 December, 13h00 at De Balie.
Canadian film makers Marlene Millar and Philip Szporer present their 3D film 'Lost Action: Trace' with a chorepgraphy by Chrystal Pite. They are both guests of a panel about 3D techniques, 'Dreaming 3D' on Friday 2 December, 12h00 at De Balie.
