Spaces still left on Palaeography and Volunteer Courses!

On 8th Janet Foster and Margaret Crockett are back with Introduction to
palaeography: How to decipher unfamiliar handwriting helping you to
familiarise yourself with 19th and 20th century handwriting.

This course is aimed at anyone working with archives with little or no
knowledge of palaeography. It will also be of interest to those who want a
refresher course to familiarise themselves with 19th & early 20th century
handwriting. On the course you will:

o Gain an understanding of the techniques for reading unfamiliar
handwriting

o Gain the ability to read and transcribe 19th & early 20th century
documents

o Create a transcription self-help checklist

o Gain a knowledge of transcription conventions

On 10th Mark Restall delivers his third course of the year with us,
Volunteers and the Law: Key topics which provides an update on the legal
position with volunteers. By the end of the session participants will be
clear about how the law affects their organisation’s need to involve
volunteers. 100% of those who attended Mark’s last course on volunteering
said they would recommend it to someone else, so do come and see how Mark
can help your understanding of volunteer management.

Course prices begin at £145 plus VAT and fees include all course materials,
lunch, and 3 months post course support from your trainer - available as and
when you need it.

Remember you can book and pay online or call or email me and we can sort
payment and booking over the phone if that's easier.

Kind regards,

Lucy Auger
