Hello, If any of you have not yet booked for either the TAUG meeting or the pre-TAUG event hosted by Talis then please do so by this Friday (December 2nd). Full venue details are here: http://talisaspireusergroup.wordpress.com/location-and-travel/ If anyone would like to contribute a brief customer presentation on anything that you are doing with Aspire then please let me know. This could be anything ranging from setting success criteria to an innovative method of engaging academics (if you've cracked this then please, please, share!). Please let me know if you'd like to take part. The Pre-Conference Event will take place on the afternoon of December 14th. I will confirm exact rooms once we have final numbers, but it will be the main UCL campus. Ian did send round details of what will be happening, but to remind you: Session One: Widget Workshop I'll be running this session with Nadeem Shabir, senior developer. We'll start with a short presentation, providing some background to APIs and widgets. This will explain what these are, the differences and take a closer look at the existing Talis Aspire APIs/widgets. This will be followed by a workshop session to brainstorm ideas for Aspire widgets, including a prioritisation exercise and some high-level specification, as we're hoping to code a couple of widgets up on the Thursday for sharing at the end of the TAUG conference! Session Two: Recogniser Workshop Chris Clarke will be running this alongside Andrew Bate, senior developer. The aim will be to use the new recogniser framework, which will be released shortly, to extend the bookmarklet to recognise some new sites. Once registrations close, we hope to "recruit" a couple of customers to this session to help in the testing (will be more fun that it sounds!). We'll also be sharing some information for discussion on this list on the sites we are considering focusing upon.
