Hi Martin Another Holocaust related website http://holocaustlearning.org/. This was put together by a volunteer-run survivorsı charity in Leeds with HLF funding and includes filmed interviews with survivors and suggestions for teaching and learning activity. Thereıs also a section entitled Reflectionsı with personal contributions from survivors and those from subsequent generations. This monthıs Museum Practice covers oral history with examples of learning projects that addressed contentious topics (you do need to log in to read the articles). Iım sure there will be loads of examples of oral history projects using digital technology from the Their Past Your Future programme a few years ago. Thereıs also the Radiowaves platform which the Imperial War Museum (and probably others) use for digital media work with schools https://www.radiowaves.co.uk/imperialwarmuseum/ Best wishes Emma Emma King Museum Consultant Tel: 01484 380149 Mobile: 07950 340048 skype: outlawkings Twitter: @emmaking01 http://twitter.com/emmaking01 LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/emmakingconsultancy Website: http://www.emmakingconsultancy.co.uk On 18/11/2011 12:50, "Martin Bazley" <[log in to unmask]> wrote: > Hi, do you know of any examples of digital technology being used for learning > in history, especially involving contentious or sensitive issues? > > Could be web resources, interactives, films, audio, handheld technology, etc - > anything involving digital. > > I am contributing to a workshop at the Challenging History conference and we > are collecting examples for participants to review and comment on. > > Martin > ---------------------------------------------------- > > Martin Bazley > Online experience consultant > Martin Bazley & Associates > 15 Margin Drive > Wimbledon > SW19 5HA > 0780 3580 727 > [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]> > www.martinbazley.com <http://www.martinbazley.com/> > > + + + + + + + + + + + + + > + + + + + + + GEM list: Contact the list owner for > assistance at [log in to unmask] For information about joining, > leaving and suspending mail (eg during a holiday) see the list website at > https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?A0=GEM + + + + + > + + + + + + + + + + + + + > + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + GEM list: Contact the list owner for assistance at [log in to unmask] For information about joining, leaving and suspending mail (eg during a holiday) see the list website at https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?A0=GEM + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
