Dear all

I thought that those who have followed the debate on assessment recently might be interested in my new paper on the teaching and testing of first and second language speakers.  It uses research evidence to tease out why tests such as those produced under Skills for Life are problematic and create negative washback in the classroom.

Happy reading!
