I'm finding that the best place is often somewhere in the realm of quality
control - internal audit - compliance - risk management, but I'm not sure
how that maps onto HE structures.

We are currently reviewing what department the Data Protection Officer's
role should sit within the college. In the past it has sat within MIS, HR
and ICT on different occasions. Is there a particular department that lends
itself more appropriately than another one? I would be interested to know
