Hi

Today we went to the latest Turnitin building block (I think it was only released on Monday).

Number 2.5.23.

This fixed the IE 8 issue we had (students not being able to get their feedback files).

It also fixed an issue which was pressing for us:

Roster Sync issue to support UTF-8 characters

Best wishes

Melanie

Hi Andy,

We have the “Unable to download .DownloadFileServlet” issue you describe with IE8:

[…] if you attach a file for User feedback in section 3, this file cannot be accessed by students or staff as the following error message appears when the file is clicked. “Unable to download .DownloadFileServlet”

Bb 9.1 SP5, Turnitin building block 2.5.18.

I am still trying to find a solution to this. I have got it to work with the following IE configuration, but I am still troubleshooting exactly what is fixing it.

-          Add *.turnitin.com and api.turnitin.com to the trusted sites list (api.turnitin.com is probably not necessary but I haven’t finished troubleshooting yet – this is the configuration I currently have in my browser).

-          For whatever zone your Blackboard site is in, turn off Protected Mode in IE, restart your browser then turn Protected Mode back on (but don’t restart). The download then works, but only until the browser is restarted again.

Regards,

Alice

Sorry to throw all these products into the equation, but we are having a problem with accessing Turnitin assignments through Grade Centre.

This only occurs in ie8

When you create a Turnitin assignment it creates a column in Grade Centre.

Once students have submitted, you can access their Originality Report and Submission by selecting “View Grade Details” in the Grade Centre Column, then View User Activity.

Under Section 2, there are icons to access the Users’ Paper and Originality Report. Clicking either of these produces an error “Dv is undefined”

Additionally if you attach a file for User feedback in section 3, this file cannot be accessed by students or staff as the following error message appears when the file is clicked. “Unable to download .DownloadFileServlet”

Any advice or reports of similar behaviour would really help

Many Thanks
