Number 2.5.23. This fixed the IE 8 issue we had (students not being able to get their feedback files). It also fixed an issue which was pressing for us: Roster Sync issue to support UTF-8 characters Best wishes Melanie Best wishes Melanie Barrand VLE Officer Health Sciences Library Worsley Building University of Leeds LS2 9JT Tel: 0113 34 38856 Email: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> Website: www.leeds.ac.uk/vle<http://www.leeds.ac.uk/vle> For the latest VLE news, hints, tips & updates visit our blog: http://vleservice.wordpress.com<http://vleservice.wordpress.com/> follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/leedsvlesupport or subscribe to the mailing list: http://www.leeds.ac.uk/vle/mail_list.htm From: Blackboard/Courseinfo userslist [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Alice Fage Sent: 06 November 2011 21:18 To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: Turnitin, Blackboard 9.1, Grade Centre and ie8 Problem Hi Andy, We have the "Unable to download .DownloadFileServlet" issue you describe with IE8: [...] if you attach a file for User feedback in section 3, this file cannot be accessed by students or staff as the following error message appears when the file is clicked. "Unable to download .DownloadFileServlet" Bb 9.1 SP5, Turnitin building block 2.5.18. I am still trying to find a solution to this. I have got it to work with the following IE configuration, but I am still troubleshooting exactly what is fixing it. - Add *.turnitin.com and api.turnitin.com to the trusted sites list (api.turnitin.com is probably not necessary but I haven't finished troubleshooting yet - this is the configuration I currently have in my browser). - For whatever zone your Blackboard site is in, turn off Protected Mode in IE, restart your browser then turn Protected Mode back on (but don't restart). The download then works, but only until the browser is restarted again. This only occurs in ie8 When you create a Turnitin assignment it creates a column in Grade Centre. Once students have submitted, you can access their Originality Report and Submission by selecting "View Grade Details" in the Grade Centre Column, then View User Activity. Under Section 2, there are icons to access the Users' Paper and Originality Report. Clicking either of these produces an error "Dv is undefined" Additionally if you attach a file for User feedback in section 3, this file cannot be accessed by students or staff as the following error message appears when the file is clicked. "Unable to download .DownloadFileServlet" Any advice or reports of similar behaviour would really help Many Thanks Andy Raistrick Email: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> Tel: (01484) 471315 The University of Huddersfield Computing and Library Services PO Box No. 341 Huddersfield HD1 3DH ________________________________ --- This transmission is confidential and may be legally privileged.
