There are still some places available for the ARA Archive Pace Setters Showcase Event on Friday 16 December 2011 at Borthwick Institute for Archives, University of York.

Why not come along for an afternoon of networking and presentations and come away with inspiration for the new year!

This event will allow attendees to find out more about the Archive Pace Setter scheme and hear from some of our Archive Pace Setters.

The scheme’s aim to share innovative practice within the archive sector reflects a key objective of Archives for the 21st Century to achieve a ‘strengthened leadership and responsive, skilled workforce’.

Individual Archive Pace Setter projects that will be showcased on the day also reflect how the sector at large is responding to the challenge of Archives for the 21st Century. These include:

‘Bigger, better and sustainable services’

‘Next Steps in the development of the Archifau Cymru/Archives Wales reader's ticket: linking our data’

‘Digital Preservation’

East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Archives and Local Studies Service ‘Digital Archives for a Digital Future’

‘Online Access’

Archives and Records Council Wales ‘Geo-tagging the Archifau Cymru-Archives Wales Catalogue'

University of Bradford ‘100 Objects (Special Collections Bradford)’

‘Cultural and Learning Partnerships’

West Yorkshire Archive Service 'West Yorkshire: Our Stories'

Durham County Record Office 'Mining Durham's Hidden Depths'

Berwick-upon-Tweed Record Office 'Introducing Early Years Children to Archives'.

The event will run from 12.30 to 4.30 beginning with a networking lunch.

This event is FREE and places are available on a first come, first served basis.
