Postdoctoral position in anatomical MRI and DTI research in schizophrenia

A full time post-doctoral position is available, based in the ISTS team (Imaging and Therapeutic Strategies in schizophrenia, UMR CNRS ex UMR 6232) in CYCERON center in Caen (France). Cyceron is an imaging platform where biomedical research has been carried out since 1985, mainly in the field of neuroscience (http://www.cyceron.fr/web/enbref.html). In its 6000 m² of buildings, Cyceron hosts a unique complex of laboratories and instruments: one of whom is a high field magnetic resonance imaging devices (3 Teslas). ISTS team is particularly involved in the anatomical and functional neural bases underlying cognitive dysfunctions in schizophrenia.

 

The applicant should have a PhD degree in neurosciences, biomedical engineering, physical sciences or in related fields. The ideal candidate would have a background in MRI, particularly in DTI and in the use of different softwares allowing analyses of cortical thickness, cortical sulci, volumetry and fiber-tracking. 

Strong computer (Matlab and C++) and statistical skills are highly desirable.

Programming competence are also required: Matlab, FSL.

 

The selected candidate should analyze anatomical cerebral changes in patients compared to healthy subjects, particularly changes underlying functional cerebral modifications in patients with schizophrenia.

The database includes anatomical and functional brain images acquired from 3 T MRI Philips machine in more than 40 patients with schizophrenia and matched healthy subjects.

 

The candidate will interact with PhD students and as well as engineers and psychiatrists.
