Pharmaceutical Editor/ Medical Writer/ Medical Editor c £26 - £27k  (London)

12 month contract

An experienced scientific/ pharmaceutical editor/ scientific writer/ medical writer is urgently required for a leading pharmaceutical services provider to contribute fully to the writing searching, collection, indexing and updating of information of their pharmaceutical information and write news reports regarding products in research & development.  They will also update the pharmaceutical database.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:


 *   Write news on the latest developments for products gathered from a range of sources including: press releases, company interviews, company websites, analyst and press briefings, company annual reports, national and international scientific and commercial conferences
 *   Prepare, input and proofread above information using the drug database according to house style, and database input and coding rules
 *   Encourage flow of information by developing contacts with pharma and biotech R&D companies
 *   Work closely with other team members to provide expertise in new drug development, new chemical entities, new mechanisms of action
 *   Work closely with other team members on development of the service and database, developing a good understanding of production and database maintenance.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Graduate or postgraduate in chemistry, pharmacy or pharmaceutical sciences
Scientific news reporting/publishing/ editing / writing/ medical writer experience or drug information experience within the pharmaceutical/ medical industry

 *   Excellent communication skills
 *   Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and maintain attention to detail
 *   Strong team player
 *   Computer literacy, experience in Internet and online searching
 *   There could be 3 or 4 weekends you would be expected to travel abroad in a year so you must be happy to do this.
