I've managed to login and although it paraphrase short sentences
anything of a reasonable length results in:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to
allocate 571 bytes) in
/home1/turnitin/public_html/paraphrase/inc/class.paraphrase.php on line

I put in "During this same period, the internationalisation of UK HE
resulted in a higher proportion of overseas students coming to study in
the UK" but if I delete "UK" it gives me:

The internationalisation of Britain he resulted in a higher proportion
of overseas educatees coming to study in the, during this same period.

During this same period, the internationalisation of Britain he resulted
in a higher proportion of overseas educatees coming to study in the.

It would offer me more it seems but "The iteration was stopped
(limitation is applied to FREE Trial only)."

However, if that is the best paraphrase it can do, I'd not want to
subscribe. Seems a bit of a con in my opinion!

Or am I missing something?

Subject: Turnitin Paraphrase

Colleagues

I'm a little surprised that I haven't seen much debate about Turnitin
Paraphrase. I've tried to sign up for a free trial, but the log-in
screen keeps telling me there's an error in my (error-free) email
address, so I haven't been able to test my hypothesis, but it seems to
me to be distinctly dubious. Surely the service will allow users (our
students) to cut text from a published source, "paraphrase" it by
feeding it into the software, and paste it (without attribution) into
their own work, secure in the knowledge that Turnitin's other product
won't match it to the original source. Have I got that right?
