medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

For free Google books, to the left of the "Clip" icon is a "Plain Text" link that displays the whole book page by page in scanned copy that can be easily cut and pasted. It's not always scanned accurately so it does need careful proofing.

medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

I'm not sure if this is the right interface, but on some Google books
pages on the upper right hand of the page there is a button called 'CLIP',
with a little scissors icon. You can select text with that by choosing it
then surrounding the text with the big +, then hit Enter. The beginning
of the text will be visible in an oblong box called Selection text. Choose
that twice to highlight, right click to 'COPY', then paste it wherever you
want. It takes a little practice but works fine.
best,
