The Practical Professional

This year’s CDG National Conference will be held at Future Inns, Bristol on Monday 21st November 2011 and features varied presentations from LIS professionals around the themes of ‘Becoming a career chameleon’ and ‘Making a splash – how you developed your service’.

Presentations will include:

    * Librarians and social media – it’s not about ‘friends’ anymore (and never was)
    * Compromise versus integrity: practical tips on how to be a career chameleon
    * Think Big: investing in your professional and career development
    * Knowledge Management for Librarians: how to become one and why you probably already are
    * Being useful: services for university researchers
    * Every flavour career beans: sector changes and career development in libraries

Come along and be inspired by an exciting range of speakers, all of whom were selected from a call for papers which resulted in a large number of inspiring applications.

We will also be running a ‘Speed Networking’ session after lunch so please bring your business cards with you!
