Many thanks for your prompt response. Unfortunately, I still have the problem I was asking for help. While I am doing the dcm2nii conversion for my DTI files I am getting 4 files: one nii.gz which has 17 volumes (as it should be), the bvals and bvects with a reduced size from 17 to 16 and another .nii.gz file having 16 volumes as my bvals and bvects.
The last three files will have an x in the front of their name: x20100707_211747134667058911173855088002010070721340901001RegAXDTISENSEREGISTEREDSMITHJILLIANCARRIGANs402a1004.bval,
x20100707_211747134667058911173855088002010070721340901001RegAXDTISENSEREGISTEREDSMITHJILLIANCARRIGANs402a1004.nii.gz
Using mricron GUI, I can see in the window the following message:

Removed DWI from DTI scan - saving volumes 1..16Conversion completed
As you can see I have 17 volumes so bvals and bvects should have the same size but at the end is doing the DWI removal and saving only 16 volumes.
Can I eliminate this? Any advise will be appreciate.
