I also think that the patient is much more informed about science, their bodies, overall knowledge etc. due to the internet and education....and this complicates the relationship between the doc and patient...it 'was supposed to be' only one way..top down...the doctor holding all cards...it is no longer so and this is unsettling for many docs...there are times patients go to their doc only to confirm their own personal diagnosis and treatment strategy...
