Exploring the way arts and the media represent disabled people and the use of arts and media by disabled people as a form of resistance.

The keynote speakers this year are Dr Alison Wilde and Mat Fraser. Other speakers include: Alicia Grace and Dr Carolyn Shapiro Wyatt and Ann Roberts from University College Falmouth, Dartington Hall;  McClain Percy and Dr Sue Porter from the University of Bristol, Norah Fry Institute and Bridget Telfer of the Royal College of Physicians.  The presentations will explore the work of disabled artists and performers past and present, how disability is portrayed in the arts and media and how those representations can be subverted and used as a form of protest.

There will also be panels providing current undergraduate students and recent graduates with the opportunity to present at a major conference as part of Cornwall Disability Research Network's  commitment to encouraging and supporting new academics.


Cost:
The cost for UoP and Cornwall College students, service users and unwaged delegates is £8 and £25 for waged delegates. Lunch and refreshments are included.
