Ask David Killingray and Cliff Pereira for info – both have written about WWI. The Ministry of Defence’s We were there has info, but much of it is inaccurate. There is also The Empire Needs Men, published many years ago, I think by the Imperial War Museum – quite useful. Ask for the MoD and the IWM for info also. I shall look in my articles on the merchant seamen to see what I can find.
