Please find below full details of the 13th EFTC conference to be held in England for the first time in the EFTC history.  The full conference rate of £725 includes food and 3 nights accommodation. With 45 speakers from across the world this conference proves to be a stimulating environment for sharing and learning. 13th European Federation of Therapeutic Communities (EFTC) Conference

 

21st to 23rd September 2011 at Keble College, Oxford.

 

Day rates for this conference are £150.00

 

This is a unique opportunity to participate in this international conference within the fantastic setting of one of Oxfords most majestic colleges.

 

The conference will focus on the central theme of Recovery and will feature contributions from key figures in the field of treatment and rehabilitation from around the world.

 

21st September 2011: THEME – Recovery and the Evidence base.

 

Main speakers include: Keith Humphreys (USA) Advisor to the White House will speak about Peer Power and Recovery: George De Leon (USA) expert in addiction and the Therapeutic Community will talk about the evidence base for Treatment; Professor John Strang (UK) will discuss why research in treatment is important. Additional interactive Seminars from experts and practitioners from Australia, Ireland & Romania will also take place.

 

22nd September:  THEME – Retention and Aftercare.  

 

Speakers from across the world will share their expertise in how to improve outcomes from recovery services in a range of prison and community settings, including Brigitte Jansen discussing retention in a Dutch housing programme for addicted repeat offenders and Carsten Hald sharing experience on how to improve retention for young adults.

 

23rd September: Conclusions and Close.

 

Round table discussion with experts from across the world George De Leon,  Professor John Strang, Professor Eric Broekaer (Belguim), Naya Arbiter (USA) and Rod Mullen (USA).
