Applications are open for a postdoctoral fellowship at the Neuroimaging Laboratory, Santa Lucia Foundation, Rome (Italy). 

This is a three-year full time position, focused on the multimodal neuroimaging project "How the Corpus Callosum changes in Alzheimer's Disease and in different forms of degenerative dementias.” (GR-2009-1606835) funded by the by Italian Ministry of Health. Principal Investigator - Dr. Margherita Di Paola

The Neuroimaging Laboratory is equipped with a 3 Tesla MR scanner that is fully dedicated to  research. In addition, within the Lab we have a wide-ranging expertise of advanced neuroimaging  methods, including combined EEG-fMRI acquisition and analyses of structural and functional  connectivity. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for MRI acquisition, and co-ordinating medical and neuroimaging investigations. The successful candidate will also be responsible for management and analysis of the clinical and neuropsychological data, the analysis of the neuroimaging data, and for writing up the findings for publication.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
-Advanced research degree (PhD or equivalent) in computer science, electrical engineering, physics, applied mathematics, biomedical engineering or neuroscience;
-Experience in software development and tools such as C++, MatLab;
-Experience in anatomical MRI (data acquisition, processing, statistical analysis);
-Experience in neuroimage analysis tools (SPM, AFNI, Freesurfer, FSL, etc); 
-Excellent communication and written skills in the English language. 
	

The candidate is expected to conduct research to contribute to the present project. However, he/she is also encouraged to develop his/her own related research topic of interest.

Salary will be commensurate with experience (26 000-32 000 Euro p.a. gross).

Expected start date is January 2012
