medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

the Premonstratensian abbey of St. Yved of Braine (Aisne) is well known to
historians of medieval art for its quite fine “High Gothic” architectural
and sculptural remains:

however, my present interest concerns an interesting miracle which was said to
have occurred there sometime between 1152 and 1158.

It seems that during the celebration of a mass on the occasion of the
conversion of several Jewish families in the neighborhood (according to a

the primary officiant at the mass was the Archbishop of Reims, Henry “of
France” (Louis VII’s kid brother) who, afterward gave the abbey the
chasuble which he was wearing at the time –in red silk, richly decorated
with pearls and gold brocade– and this, together with the chalice used in
the mass, were kept as precious relics, perhaps into modern times (i have yet
to discover the fate of these objects, alas).

Professor Oliver Guyotjeannin of the École de chartes has recently published
(1134-1250)” and mentions this miracle in his introduction, noting:

miraculeuse.” (http://tinyurl.com/3vsvbud )

the term “cult eucharistique” is one i have not seen before.
is anyone here familiar with it?

thanks in advance,

c
