Women Screenwriters – An international Guide


Jule Selbo (California Fullerton) and Jill Nelmes (University of East London) are working on a project for Palgrave Macmillan that will discuss and record the work of women screenwriters in film. 

We are particularly keen to receive submissions about women screenwriters from countries that are not usually represented in the mainstream, though all nations and film industries, from Hollywood to Bollywood, are of great interest. This could include chapters or shorter biographical detail, especially where there is little information available about particular authors, and refer to writers from early cinema to the present.  

Contributors may submit chapters up to 8,000 words, short pieces or send proposals for content to:

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
