Something with proof of address, and something with a signature on. If a person has a drivers' licence with both address and signature on, then we simply accept that. This was to prevent fake users from signing up and taking out all the latest dvd's and then disappearing. I don't know what the resulting changes have been since we've decided to do this. One thing I've never asked about is how libraries deal with homeless people, or people who don't have a permanent address. This would be interesting to hear about. -- Ka-Ming On Thu, Sep 1, 2011 at 12:24 PM, Frances Hendrix <[log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>> wrote: This is anecdotal. Do you have different categories of membership dependent on whether ID can be presented? If you do not ask for any proof at all what has been the impact of this - ie. greater membership / increased loss of stock? Any evidence or impressions from your own authorities is gratefully received. Responses will be summarised for the list.
