Geodynamics - Open Call for EGU2012 Sessions - closes 16 September

The 2012 General Assembly of the EGU will be held in Vienna from 22 to 27

April. At the 2011 General Assembly, there were 1,156 geodynamics presentations in 36

sessions organised or co-organised by the Geodynamics Division (out of over 13,330 in total).

The Geodynamics programme covered the full breadth of the discipline and

reached deep into neighbouring fields.

We hope that the 2012 programme will have even more and better geodynamics.

This will depend entirely on the initiative taken by the community.

If you have an exciting session idea, then help us build a

complete meeting programme by submitting your session proposal on:

http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/egu2012/provisionalprogramme

then follow the link on the left-hand side to the Geodynamics Programme Group.

The public call-for-session has been open since 5 July 2011 and will close soon 16 September 2011.

Ideally we would like at least two conveners named for a session - and a session

description if possible - though this, and a further convener(s), can follow later.

Proposals for sessions at the boundary with other disciplines are of special interest.

Such sessions can be co-organized by two or more

divisions within the EGU, and serve to strengthen the scientific ties

within the Union. If you want to organize a session in this category,

then please indicate this in your session proposal and identify

co-organizers in other divisions.

The deadline for session proposals for the 2012 General Assembly is 16

September 2011.

The GD Programme Committee will evaluate all session proposals before

the final programme is approved and proposed sessions with considerable

overlap may be merged.

We hope that you will help us to make the 2012 GD programme a success!
