To overcome issues like this in my own life, rather than use sticky keys I
have used macros.  Macros can be created through programmable keyboards and
mice, or perhaps even by using a 'gamepad', such as Belkin's N52te.

I've just recently bought a programmable keyboard from pc world for just
over £20, so they can be reasonably priced.
