Chair in Human Geography

The School of the Environment is recruiting to a Chair in Human Geography and is seeking an internationally recognised scholar to contribute to the School’s developing research agenda. The person appointed will have an outstanding research profile in any aspect of human geography, although those with complementary interests to the themes of Risk, Resilience and Social Justice are especially welcome to record their interest.

A commitment to knowledge exchange and engagement with policy and practice are important requirements of this post. 

The person appointed will provide leadership for the Space and Society Research Group and lead postgraduate development at Masters and PhD levels, including the ESRC-accredited Masters programmes that contribute to the Human Geography and Families and Demography pathways in the Scottish Doctoral Training Centre.  There will also be opportunities to engage in University and Scottish-wide initiatives, including the Centre for Environmental Change and Human Resilience, the Social Dimensions of Health Institute and the Scottish Institute for Policing Research where geographers are centrally involved.
