Hi Sarah,

Hmmm that I don't think you can do, but definitely worth an enhancement request if you have a use case. As date restriction is technically an adaptive release rule and a content area is no different to a folder so it shouldn't be too hard to add the functionality in the future.

But what if, Garry, after providing the answer to their question, the
tutor then turned around and said that they never wanted to date restrict
in the first place, but they wanted to make the content area available to
one group of students and not another?

cheers

sarah

Hi Sarah,

Yes, of course you can :)

1: Click on you menu item.
2: When the content area loads, click the context menu next to the name in
the header bar.
3: Choose edit.
4: Set your date restrictions

The Content area is now hidden and will not show in the menu until the
rules are satisfied.

Remember if you hide a top level content area, its hierarchical, so users
cannot access any of the content within it, even if that is linked from
other areas of the course.

Garry

Hi there

I don't think it's possible but wondered if anyone else knew....

Can you set adaptive release rules to menu items and date restrict a whole
content area? I know you can hide/show an area manually and don't think
you can do any more than this. Anyone else know any more?

cheers

sarah
