Many thanks to those
who replied to my query yesterday. However, a colleague seems to
have cracked it (with, I believe, help from the list - I
haven't recieved my digest yet!) overnight, and I'd thought I'd
share the solution with everyone in case anyone else falls into the
same trap.
Quoting from the BB
guide...
"Instead of attached files being stored in a
"hidden" file system, files attached from the local computer are uploaded
automatically into the Course Files area."
This is a part of the content store - in
addition to institutional and personal content - which we have never used, and
indeed hid from users in versions 7 and 8 - and subsequently forgot about. In v9,
every time you upload a file, or copy content, you clearly need appropriate
permissions to the relevant section of the content store.
I have just given the institional role 'staff' read
and write permissions for this whole section and successfully uploaded files
from a couple of dummy staff accounts.
This may not be the 'proper' solution, and it seems very strange that
instructors don't automatically get appropriate permission to the relevant
course(site) files area - but it seems to work .
Thanks again, and
best wishes.
