Thanks Will, very useful.

Feels like a bit of a stalemate with the accessibility options, to be
honest will believe it when I see it re anything coming directly from
Apple!

Appsforaac (its not mine! Its everybody's!) is undergoing a bit of a
change to add in the access options.. I've been hesitant to do it for
sometime as a) few actually have implemented any half decent variations
of the single tap as an interface or options for touch and hold (iMean
was the first I can think of that does do it :
http://appsforaac.net/app/imean - it can also do TTS now too) and b)
with the release of iOS 5 in November time its been suggested that it
all sorts of alternative access options will be possible so I didn't
want to do the extra work if it was going to be superseded. (e.g. The
N-Abler joystick is pictured in some of Apple's developer presentations
on the matter - whether anyone is actually making something specifically
for the devices or its just an accidental shot I'm not sure).

Whatever happens though, a lot of the options need to come from the
developers rather than Apple per se. All a bit grim sadly. :(

Subject: Hold down time on a text based app?

	Hi all,

I am looking for a text to speech app for the ipad ideally, but
maybe the ipod but need something that has the ability to alter the hold
down acceptance time (as many of the communication aids offer). I have
looked at Will's site and can't find anything suitable there,
Predictable doesn't seem to do it. Is it something which is technically
difficult with an ipad?

	Thanks in advance,

	Claire
