At the University of Southampton we are looking at ways we can improve our ID cards, making it easier for students to apply, to produce the cards, and enhance the services we provide on one card. 
 
As part of this we're interested to hear how other institutions manage your ID cards, as well as your experience of external suppliers.  We'd very much appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to respond to the questions below, or forward them on to appropriate colleague within your institution.
 
1.  Do you use an external supplier to provide cards and card management systems?
1a  If yes, who do you use, and would you recommend them?
1b  Are you able to provide details of your supplier for us to contact?
 
2.  Can students and staff apply for their ID card online, including upload of photographs?
 
3.  Can students and staff select additional services to be loaded onto their card, e.g. gym membership?
3a.  If yes, can they do this online?
3b.  Can this include services that need to be paid for, and how are the payments managed?
 
4.  How long on average does it take you to produce a new ID card and a replacement card?
 
5.  Are you cards ITSO compliant?
