Why not stadardize on plastic coke bottle size and volume and just vary
the nature of the constuents, after all that's what we basically do with
urine (not coke bottles of coarse, apart from the odd patient that uses
those anyway)

But as I said, cans the same size.

If the can is big enough to accommodate a larger volume of gas then its
displacement will be greater.

Both cans are the same size and each is stated to contain 330 ml of
drink. And the volume of gas would not affect the weight.

Doesn't it also depend on the volume of gas in the can?

However, practical experimentation shows that this does not apply with
cans of 7-Up. (Haven't got any Coke easily to hand)

Both Diet and Regular SINK despite the fact that the Diet does not
contain the 35g sugar which is present in the Regular.

A can of Regular weighs approx 5g more than the can of Diet (both 330
ml).

What is providing the extra weight in the Diet 7-up?

I look forward to seeing more reports after the next weekend.

Just read article on useless information in our patient magazine. Did
you know a can of diet coke floats in water and a can of regular coke
sinks. So the next time you go to the take away and you are not sure
who has the diet and who has the regular coke, ask for a bucket of
water! Apparently its down to the extra 39g of sugar in a can of
regular coke.

Tim.
