Dear all,

I was comparing the results from a One-way ANOVA within-subjects against the same model constructed using the flexible factor model (subject and factor terms).

If I set independence to Yes, variance to equal in the one-way ANOVA, then it matches the flexible factorial (subject: either independent/dependent, equal variance; condition: dependent, equal variance).
If I set independence to No, variance to equal in the one-way ANOVA, then the models are different.

All models produce the same contrast images, so its the error term that is different.

Does anyone know why the error terms are different when the models should be the same? Which one is correct? I can send screen captures of the models if anyone is interested.

Best Regards, Donald McLaren
