NIH Postdoctoral Fellow Positions

in the Neuroscience of Substance Abuse and Criminal Psychopathy in Forensic Populations

 

Postdoctoral positions in forensic psychology are currently available in  Dr. Kent Kiehl’s laboratory at The Mind Research Network.  Ph.D./M.D./equivalent in psychology/engineering/neuroscience or related field is required. Prior experience conducting research studies in substance abuse and/or cognitive neuroscience is highly desirable. Candidates should also possess experience, or strong interest, in working with incarcerated populations.  Candidates will be involved in analyses of large scale neuroimaging studies (n >1500) examining the cognitive and neural systems underlying substance abuse and related conditions (e.g. psychopathy) in incarcerated populations.  Candidates may also train in clinical assessment of substance abuse/dependence and other disorders via structured interviews, perform neuropsychological testing, and receive training in functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI)) and event-related potentials (ERP) data collection and analyses. Position will include access to the MRN Mobile Imaging System that is deployed to local prisons (adult and adolescent male/female facilities).
