I know of complete orders - Cistercian, Cluniac, mendicant, etc but I am interested in the individual houses of non-exempt orders that claimed this exemption. I know that Westminster, St Albans and Bury St Edmunds made these claims and think that Glastonbury, Evesham and Waltham may also have done so but I am wondering if there is an absolute list to be found anywhere. All my obvious text books say 'houses such as' or 'including' and I would like a definitive list if one exists. many thanks Rosemary Hayes Dr RCE Hayes Honorary Treasurer Canterbury and York Society 18 Murrayfield Drive Edinburgh EH12 6EB 0131 337 1385 [log in to unmask] ********************************************************************** To join the list, send the message: join medieval-religion YOUR NAME to: [log in to unmask] To send a message to the list, address it to: [log in to unmask] To leave the list, send the message: leave medieval-religion to: [log in to unmask] In order to report problems or to contact the list's owners, write to: [log in to unmask] For further information, visit our web site: http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/medieval-religion.html ********************************************************************** To join the list, send the message: join medieval-religion YOUR NAME to: [log in to unmask] To send a message to the list, address it to: [log in to unmask] To leave the list, send the message: leave medieval-religion to: [log in to unmask] In order to report problems or to contact the list's owners, write to: [log in to unmask] For further information, visit our web site: http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/medieval-religion.html ********************************************************************** To join the list, send the message: join medieval-religion YOUR NAME to: [log in to unmask] To send a message to the list, address it to: [log in to unmask] To leave the list, send the message: leave medieval-religion to: [log in to unmask] In order to report problems or to contact the list's owners, write to: [log in to unmask] For further information, visit our web site: http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/medieval-religion.html
